PORN ART. I think what some fakers do is an art form in itself. There are so many different levels of this, that much of what is capable, has yet to be discovered.

For that particular image, I think that an art label is easily warranted- I could image it being exhibited in a gallery- I've seen easily more explicit works exhibited. I remember a colleague once telling me of an exhibition she attended with her family, and the explicitly homoerotic images in the exhibition that eventually caused her husband to need to "get some air".

However, I'm not voting, since I don't think that there's a dichotomy between art and porn and an image/film/story needs to be one or the other. Actually I think there's a good case to be made that porn is in fact a subset of art- rendering the question moot, or reducing it to "Is this image pornographic (or to what degree is it pornographic)?"

It's generally accepted that movies/photography/stories are art- with the degree of artistic merit varying wildly, but always present- they are by their nature creative endeavours. There's no question that there exists erotic art. Just because it passes some level of eroticism that may render it incapable of exhibition in a conventional art gallery/display in a general cinema/sale in a conventional bookstore, and hence gets labelled as porn, doesn't cancel out its validity as art.

Now I'm not claiming that much of porn would be regarded as high art, but there's always some consideration of a story being told and aesthetics of how it is shown/told. Looking at an erotic image involves an appreciation of aesthetics and in effective cases evokes an emotional response that the staid art that's exhibited in the galleries rarely matches. So in fact porn may be among the most effective of popular art.

I certainly regard faking nude images as an artistic endeavor- again the level of artistic merit varying wildly... from a pretty base level (stitching head A to body B) up to constructing a fantastic image that can never exist, with a level of control over the aesthetics and story being told that fully warrant the artistic label.

My work is intended for personal entertainment only. Do not distribute in any manner that will cause harm to those depicted in the images. Support the faking community by enjoying responsibly.

I accept limited private requests (I have a busy life, of which faking is only a small part), so please don't be offended if I don't accept your request.

Pornography (often abbreviated as "porn" or "porno" in informal usage) (Greek: πορνεία, porneia, fornication) is the explicit portrayal of sexual subject matter for the purpose of sexual gratification. Pornography may use a variety of media, including books, magazines, postcards, photos, sculpture, drawing, painting, animation, sound recording, film, video, and video games. The term applies to the depiction of the act rather than the act itself, and so does not include live exhibitions like sex shows and striptease. A pornographic model poses for still photographs. A pornographic actor or porn star performs in pornographic films. If dramatic skills are not involved, a performer in porn films may be also be called a model.

VS

Art is a diverse range of human activities and the products of those activities; this article focuses primarily on the visual arts, which includes the creation of images or objects in fields including painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and other visual media. Architecture is often included as one of the visual arts; however, like the decorative arts, it involves the creation of objects where the practical considerations of use are essential—in a way that they are usually not for a painting, for example. Music, theatre, film, dance, and other performing arts, as well as literature, and other media such as interactive media are included in a broader definition of art or the arts. Until the 17th century, art referred to any skill or mastery and was not differentiated from crafts or sciences, but in modern usage the fine arts, where aesthetic considerations are paramount, are distinguished from acquired skills in general, and the decorative or applied arts. Art has been characterized in terms of mimesis, expression, communication of emotion, or other values. During the Romantic period, art came to be seen as "a special faculty of the human mind to be classified with religion and science". Though the definition of what constitutes art is disputed and has changed over time, general descriptions mention an idea of human agency and creation through imaginative or technical skill. The nature of art, and related concepts such as creativity and interpretation, are explored in a branch of philosophy known as aesthetics.

It is easy to fall in line with academia's agreeded on definitions, but I prefer to call ART as I see it and be bold.
